The Book Club’s July Mini Challenge

exhibitionnow (11)

We may be way into July now but we thought this would be the perfect time to introduce our first mini challenge! We won’t be doing these every month, just when we have an idea of something that will be fun for a lot of us to do together.

This mini challenge focuses on a series that many of us love, Harry Potter! With the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script book on the 31st July we thought it would be a fun idea to try and bulk read all seven books before the release.

Day 19

We will be starting on the 17th July because some of us are taking part in a readathon but you can start whenever you want! We know trying to read seven books in a week or two may be a little challenging for us slower readers (me included) so for those that don’t want to put too much pressure on themselves we will be watching the films as well!

These are the days on which we will be watching the films at 7:30pm (BST) on each night stated below:

Sunday 17th July: Harry Potter and the Philosophers/Sorcerers Stone

Tuesday 19th July: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Thursday 21st July: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of the Azkaban

Saturday 23rd July: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Monday 25th July: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Wednesday 27th July: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Friday 29th July: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Saturday 30th July: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

We will be hosting twitter chats at the same time, sharing our thoughts and feelings with you all as we watch along. We hope that you will join in and share you Potter experiences with us!

Not all the girls will be attempting the mammoth feat of reading seven books in 2 weeks, but most of us will be watching the films. I will be trying to read them all, I don’t think it will happen but I’m going to give it a try! So don’t worry if you don’t think you’ll finish or you’re coming to the end and you still have the last three (biggest) books to go, because this challenge is for fun! We don’t want anyone putting extra pressure on themselves.
